I’m not using any other mod with this and noticed that in act 5 nightmare difficulty the enemies are mostly act 2 enemies (mage skeletons, scarabs, tall summoners, etc.)

Theres no way to edit active chars in hero editor. Hero editor corrupts the file. However, thankfully, one can create a 1.09 char in hero editor, change/add what you want then start a dropmod game. Once the dropmod game is started, it can’t be edited though. I start the game with a few magic find charms and a ring to boost the drop rate a bit. I would also like to start with an experience modified item but since that is a post 1.09 feature, I can’t do it.

My perfect Diablo 2 game would include:

-This dropmod – with a little more set and unique drops in relation to rares (I’d like to be able to complete at least one set per difficulty)

-a way to reset the quests/waypoints (so I have a real reason to replay a difficulty)

-a way to boost experience (2x,3x,4x). (so I don’t have to replay a difficulty to get an char ready for hell)

So, is there any way I can edit the dropmod so that it works completely with the hero editor? I’m only interested in playing offline. If not, is there some way to edit the xp rate and quest status directly from the mod files?

Thanks.

My dropmod is a final releace and i don't allow further modifications of my work.
However you could go to www.d2mods.com and download the beginners guide to modmaking, then make a drop mod of your own. Once you know the basics modmaking can be allot of fun
